F.A.Q.s
I am interested in booking a retreat at
Mountainside! What should I do?
Please e-mail Jackie Leach at jleach@bar-t.com, or call her at 301-674-7433 and
she would be happy to begin that process with you.
What is Mountainside's capacity?
Mountainside can comfortably sleep a total of 110 guests. There are 10 beds in each Yurt style cabin.
Is there a minimum reservation number in
order to book an event?
We do ask for groups of at least 12-15 people in order to book at Mountainside.
How can I book Mountainside exclusively
for my retreat?
Mountainside requires a group to have a minimum of 100 full paying guests in
order to ensure exclusive use for your weekend retreat, slightly smaller
numbers are possible for weekdays.
Are we able to host small groups? What if
we provide our own meals?
You can host a small group as long as you meet the minimum fee required. Food is allowed to be brought in to the
facility as long as we know what is coming ahead of time to prepare for
refrigerator and freezer space.
Will each guest need to bring linens or a
sleeping bag?
All linens and sleeping bags are brought in with the
guests. Mountainside does not have any
linen for rent. Guests are required to
bring sheets for a twin mattress or blankets, sleeping bags, pillows, towels
etc.
What staffing is each group responsible
for providing?
1. Work Crew: Provides assistance in food service
and other areas.
2. Medical Staff: A designated person who knows what
allergies and conditions are present on campus
3. Adventure Work
Crew: Provide
assistance with adventure activities during free time.
These are just volunteer
positions that we ask you help with during your stay.
What is the group expected to help clean
up at the end of the retreat?
The expectation is to return the cabin to its original condition. Some
responsibilities include cleaning up trash, sweeping, and keeping bathrooms
clean.
What is the arrival and departure time
for groups?
Check-in time is no earlier than 9:00 a.m. and departure is no later than 10:00
a.m, for overnight groups. For groups
using the property for day use only, all activities must conclude by 10:00
p.m. If the group coordinator needs to
arrive an hour or two before check-in, please contact your guest services host
to find out if the camp is available at that time. Arrival times will vary for each group
depending on the programming of your event.
