The Mountainside Challenge and Retreat Center (CRC) was launched in 2006 and has quickly become one of the premier retreat destinations in Maryland for school groups, private groups, corporations and individuals. Our state of the art facility is situated on 115 acres of pristine farmland in Urbana, Maryland. With a climbing tower, dual zip lines, a low ropes challenge course, refreshing pool, manicured fields, and amphitheater, the Mountainside CRC is the perfect location for any group or school outing. Whether your company needs a day to focus on improving communication, or your church group wants a facility where young and old can work together to accomplish something great, or you want to provide your school group with an opportunity to learn and grow, Mountainside CRC is perfectly suited for addressing your every need.

Our Staff

We recruit exceptional staff that are always ready to deliver a truly remarkable program to your group. Our staff goes through a rigorous and continuous training process in order to maintain our sterling safety record and to ensure that they bring fun, creativity, enthusiasm and impressive service to each guest at Mountainside CRC. Each group on our challenge course is led and supervised by a certified Mountainside facilitator trained and experienced in adventure safety and procedures. With each group, at least one of our staff members possesses training and certification in CPR and First Aid.

We take pride in both the activity and the debriefings we lead afterwards in order to make sure every member of your group finds practical use in what they accomplish while at the CRC. We provide the opportunity for every person who visits our facility to safely accomplish something they may not have believed they could.
