The Staff Experience

At Bar-T, we feel that there is a pressing need for positive role models in the lives of our children. Each staff member is expected to be a role model, and is given the staff development and training tools to become one. This ranges from the way we talk to children to how we teach self discipline.

Our Role Model expectation has been so successful, it’s not unusual to find Bar-T staff being asked to volunteer in the school, baby-sit for our children, or come to family events. We want to be members of the school community, and creating and maintaining positive interactions between children and adults is paramount.

We set the expectation that every member of the Bar-T community follow a Code of Ethics, lovingly referred to as the “Bar-T Be’s”:

+ Be Safe
+ Be Nice
+ Be Positive
+ Be Creative
+ Be Brave
+ Be Hardworking
+ Be Honest

= Be a Role Model

We have found that these principles are as relevant for the children in our care as they are for the staff that works for us each day.

Do you think Bar-T might be the place for you?
