Bar-T Families Support Montgomery County Family Justice Center
On March 29, 2017, Bar-T staff members had the honor of delivering a donation of over 300 stuffed animals to the Montgomery County Family Justice Center. For the second year, Bar-T programs participated in the FJC Foundation’s “Cupboards Need Bears” campaign to provide children, who have been exposed to domestic violence, something to snuggle with in their time of need. Every child who comes to the FJC for services receives a stuffed animal and the FJC distributes an average three bears per day to children exposed to domestic violence… Which means that they hand out 21 stuffed animals per week!
As a part of our mission at Bar-T, we believe in showing respect and keeping everyone safe. This belief extends beyond the children in our care and the families that we serve. This belief applies to everyone with whom we interact and the communities that we belong to. The final line of our mission statement reads: We help people remember they are of great worth. When it comes to organizations who embrace the same ideals that we hold close, the Montgomery County Family Justice Center is a perfect fit. The incredible work that they do for our community treats all people as individuals, they listen, show respect, keep everyone safe, and help people remember they are of great worth.
During the months of January and February, Bar-T programs spread the word about the FJC and asked families to bring in donations of new stuffed animals. Children created donation boxes, talked to their families and friends about the drive, and the donations came pouring in. Our boxes were overflowing and we dedicated an entire corner of our warehouse to these awesome donations.
On Wednesday, a team of Bar-T employees had the honor of bringing the donations over to the FJC. It was a wonderful experience to visit with the staff and express our gratitude for everything they do.
