North Potomac Area Kids Camp (Thurgood Marshall)
Camp Overview
Bar-T Kids Camps combine the comforts and convenience of area schools with Bar-T’s tradition of running outstanding summer camps. Kids Camp operates on weekly sessions for children entering Kindergarten through the 8th grade.Our Kids Camp programs utilizes both the indoor and outdoor facilities of our host school to deliver a camp experience filled with crafts, music & dance, sports, games, STEM activities and exciting theme days. In addition to the activities that take place at our camp site, campers also enjoy swimming each week at an area pool.
Camp Dates & Rates
Our Thurgood Marshall Kids Camp is offered in weekly sessions from June 22nd through August 14th. Camp operates on-site at Thurgood Marshall Elementary School through July 31. During Weeks 7 and 8 (August 3–14), campers are transported at no additional cost to Poolesville Kids Camp for a full day of Bar-T programming. The rate for one week of Kids Camp is $285.
*4-day weeks: Please note that we have a week this summer that will be 4-day week due to the federal holiday. We will automatically discount 4-day weeks and take off $45 from your total for the week. This includes the week of June 29th – July 3rd (camp will be closed Friday, July 3rd).
Important End-of-Summer Transportation Update
Friday, July 31 is the final day that Thurgood Marshall Kids Camp will operate on-site at Thurgood Marshall Elementary School.
During Weeks 7 & 8 (August 3–14), campers enrolled in Thurgood Marshall Kids Camp will be transported at no additional cost to Poolesville Kids Camp for a full day of Bar-T programming.
Transportation Details
- Morning Drop-Off: Thurgood Marshall Elementary School
- Bus Departs: 8:20 AM (parents must remain until the bus departs)
- Afternoon Pick-Up: Thurgood Marshall Elementary School
- Bus Returns: 5:00 PM (parents must be on-site at this time to sign campers out)
- Extended Care: Not available at Thurgood Marshall during Weeks 7 & 8. Available at Poolesville for families providing their own transportation

We plan to operate at Thurgood Marshall Elementary. If MCPS construction or availability requires a change, families will be notified and the camp will move to another suitable school within the North Potomac area.
Camp Hours & Extended Care
The Bar-T camp day begins at 9:00am and ends at 3:30pm. Because there is not bus transportation for Kids Camps, campers need to be dropped-off at our location and checked-in by a parent or guardian. We open the daily check-in process at 8:45am and campers are dismissed promptly at 3:30pm.
For families that need coverage beyond the camp day, we offer extended care options that allow campers to arrive as early as 7am and stay as late as 6:30pm. This extended care option is offered on a weekly basis and families can choose between morning extended care, afternoon extended care, or morning & afternoon extended care.
